This is a typical brunch (breakfast + lunch) we serve in our family. It takes about 2 hours a day (plus time growing the vegetables on the farm or finding the best source of raw, local and chemical-free food we can find) to make/bake our own food at home. We believe it’s time well spent because we cannot find the same quality of food to nourish our bodies, minds and souls elsewhere. I explain in my book why the brain of Homo economicus, which measures the utility of time (life) with quantifying it with quantitative metrics like maximizing the income/cost ratio, misses out on qualitative gains in life like education, wisdom, peace, love, fellowship, and health. Good food cannot be measured in numbers.

Here is a list of what we include in this typical brunch (twice a week) at our home, with some health science about each ingredient:
